Winter Solstice ~ Traversing the Darkness

The darkest day of the year is here (Winter solstice). Afterwards, more and more light will filter in with each coming day.
W𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘵?
To go inward.
To let go.
To empty out.
To purge the things in your mind and spirit that are not supporting you.

Have a ceremony! Wear your most magical clothing, anoint yourself, light candles, burn herbs, sip tea, drink cacao, dance to a song (or many), sit with yourself, write in your journal.
Celebrate the depths of yourself, the experiences
you've had, the lessons you’ve learned, the things you’re letting go of. Honor them, and bid them farewell so you create the deep empty space necessary for your truest dreams to take root.
People talk a lot about letting go, as if it's easy to just let go and step into the next best thing. (Maybe it is for some people, and yay for them!) I've found that there is a deep grieving process that happens as I empty out, as I morph and change and let go of people and places, patterns and habits.
Feeling that grief is an incredibly important part of letting go. It's part of digesting what's happened, what was, and what is no longer. There's a sadness/grief/forgiveness that has to be acknowledged & felt.
𝘖𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵, 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥, & 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥…𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴. 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵.
Feeling empty is not "bad". It's the outbreath, before you breath in. It's the moment before the next magical thing pulses through you. It’s OK to feel empty. 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠.
Then the joy and lightness can begin its journey through you. We’re cyclical beings, mirrored by the cyclical-ness of nature. Surrender to the current of it, and magic will begin to pulse through you in ways you could only begin to fathom.
Happy Solstice.
May you feel, grieve, and empty out, so your dreams can flow in and take up the space they so deserve.
